長距離 Chōkyori (Long distance, in english)

The Mezcal Jazz Unit invited Kimiyo Ogawa to France in November 2021, when cultural and artistic activities had already resumed during the pandemic.

In the series of concerts, entitled "Long Distance Project", which was imaged by the long distance between Japan-France, we performed original compositions. The project aroused much sympathy and emotion, and was welcomed by the local people. For 10 days, the members appeared on local radio stations, visited a children's circus school, and interacted with Japanese people living in France.
In April 2022, Kimiyo Ogawa stayed in the south of France for a month again, and held a total of 9 performances, 8 performances by the band and a solo concert. These performances were covered by media such as newspapers and radio, and were well received.

A major tour of about ten dates then took place in November 2023 in Japan.

The band:

Kimiyo Ogawa (bandoneon)
Christophe Azema (saxophones)
Jean Marie Frédéric (guitar)
Emmanuel de Gouvello (bass)
Daniel Solia (drums)

Elizabeth Riley (management)
